The Bivigliano villa

Bivigliano is a locality in the municipality of Vaglia near Florence, which takes its name from a member of the Medici family, a contemporary of Lorenzo the magnificent. Here lies the magnificent Villa di Bivigliano.
The villa was built probably designed by Bernardo Buontalenti, who at the time was working on the construction of the nearby villa medicea di Pratolino, now known as Villa Demidoff.
The building was commissioned by Ginori family and was built on the ruins of an ancient castle. The Ginori used the tenuta di Bivigliano, supplemented by a 12-hectare park, as a summer residence and hunting lodge.
On the ground, around the monumental central hall with a gallery, which alone can accommodate up to 90 people seated at the table are arranged in a horseshoe other lounges, libraries and music room. A large extension portal so the Salon in another room which in turn opens with a French door onto the Italian garden and the Orchard behind. These roof gardens in degrading terraces overlook a pristine landscape and great breath.
On the lower level there are taverns that hide the castle of Bivigliano above which was elevated the villa already mentioned early Florentine Histories of 500 in Benedetto Varchi, renowned historian of the era.
