The Way of the Gods
Via degli Dei is a hiking trail that connects the cities of Bologna and Florence, passing through the Apennines.
The street, currently marked by the CAI, uses a mainly ridge route very similar to the routes used in the Middle Ages for communications between Bologna and the Tuscan capital, and even earlier by the Romans through the ancient Roman military road Flaminia.
The route, rebuilt since the 1990s, crosses numerous places of naturalistic and landscape interest at altitudes of around 1000 m. In some places the paths pass right on the ancient road pavements still surviving after 2000 years of history.
The route passes near our structure. Thanks to our position you have the possibility to complete the last remaining stretch of the road from Bivigliano to the center of Florence.
Alternatively, our structure is an excellent point of refreshment and accommodation for travelers who intend to reach Bologna.
The way of the gods is a great way to cross the Florentine countryside and explore the breathtaking views offered by the ridges of the Florentine hills.
Way of Monte Senario
The Florence Country Residence was initially built by the monks of the monastery of Monte Senario to offer a refuge to the pilgrims who walked the path of redemption from Florence to the convent of Monte Senario.
The journey can be easily completed in one day and offers the possibility of identifying with the pilgrims who traveled this path in the 18th century to atone for their sins and to meditate on decisions that tormented them.
At the top of Monte Senario you will also have the opportunity to observe the Mugello valley and see the Apennines offering a splendid landscape.
